To conquer Tung Cave, you must climb to great heights however to reach the Fairy Cave, visitors must travel deep into the earth. Ma village elders state that this place being both ancient and beautiful was often the place where fairies would descend from the heavens.  Young males from the village discovered the cave and tried to catch the descending fairies, but each fairy being startled turned to stone and thus the cave now bears its name to this day. The elders also say that if you are lucky, upon visiting the cave if three drops of water fall on the statue of a fairy then you will become beautiful and youthful. Therefore for visitors to the Fairy Cave, particularly young women, it is a chance to discover if you are of great fortune or not.
